Visit the gorgeous Sugoi Lakes Lodge for three days and two nights
of art seminars by award-winning artists Ann Ayres & Randy Meador.
Join us, and other artists, to sculpt or paint the
beautiful scenery that surrounds this serene lodge, with spectacular wildlife
and horses grazing in the pasture. An artistic country getaway.
You are welcome to come and go as you wish.
Feel free to sculpt or paint into the night or
early morning, before the world gets in your way.
Guests will have full use of the Lodge at all times.
Bring your art supplies, or ours (for details see below),
your fishing poles, musical instruments and singing voice!
All meals will be provided with the exception of the Monday evening meal,
when you will be invited to get acquainted with Mineola and the
magnificent restaurants, shops and art galleries.
11am Monday September 7: Early arrivals will enjoy a small breakfast table.
Feel free to walk the trail, kayak the Sugoi Lake, fish (catch and release)
or just kick back your heels. Lodge Lunch will be served at noon,
then we'll kick off the first of our (4) 4 hour art sessions.
8 am Tuesday September 8: Lodge Breakfast then a four-hour session.
We'll break for Lodge Lunch then another four-hour session.
We're excited to entertain you that evening with live music by David K Holland,
while you enjoy a locally caught fresh Catfish Fry for dinner,
provided by the Sugoi Lakes Lodge.
8 am Wednesday morning: We're serving Lodge Breakfast before the final
four-hour session, then a light lunch and a discussion on coming events.

Randy Meador will honor us with his approach to watercolor. You will be entertained and amazed. Artists please bring your own paint and supplies.
Watercolor Painting Materials List
Brushes: three or four quality watercolor brushes. Sable, squirrel or blends, a large round: Size 10 or larger--a medium round: Approximate Size 6-- a large flat: 1 – 2 Inches-- “Silver Black Velvet” brand is a great, reasonable choice.
Watercolor Paper: scratch watercolor paper if you need it.-- 140# - 300# Cold Press Watercolor Paper (2 full sheets
- Watercolor Back Board: Highly recommended!... but ultimately, optional
- Flat wooden panel large enough to accommodate your paper (stapled down), soft, thin plywood works well but not necessary if Block paper is used. Paints:- Do NOT bring white paint.|
Very important for Randy’s approach. Please bring: Prussian Blue, Ivory Black ...Beyond that, a few quality tubes of watercolor paint are all you need.
Blue, Red, Yellow, Brown- Do NOT bring white paint.
- A few specific suggestions if you’re purchasing paint:
Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Cadnium Red, Cadnium Yellow,Raw Umber, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna- Do not bring Gouache. Do NOT bring white paint unless you’re repainting the restroom walls.
Palette: Anything flat, white, and water resistant, Plate, Enamel Butchers tray and a watercolor palette.
Accessories: Water container (bucket, jar, cup, anything), small spray bottle, paper towels, dark, heavy Pencils (4B or heavier would be great), white plastic eraser, drafting or masking tape.
- If you’ve experimented with watercolor in the past, feel free to bring an example of your work. If not, no sweat!

Ann Ayres will be working with live equine models (horses in the pasture),
